Pat finally left for her walk-about in England and Scotland on Tuesday, July 25th. Here she is on the way to the airport. What you see is all she took. It was heavy but she was able to carry it all, which was her goal. She flew first to Pittsburgh and from there on to London. |

Kensington Palace is the official London residence of Princess Margaret and the late Princess of Wales and is referred to in royal circles as "KP". A number of monarchs were born here, the last of them Victoria in 1819. |
More from Pat's postcard: "We were served breakfast on the plane at 10:30pm. At 12 midnight we deplaned and it was 6am. My back pack was left on the hotel van and is now touring London independently. I hope we meet up in the near future. Lunch was vegetable soup and a cheese scone." |
According to the schedule she left us,on Thursday morning her plans were to see the Crown Jewels, which are housed in the Tower of London (above), near Tower Bridge (below). |
Thursday night she had "groundling" tickets, meaning standing room (no seats) for the Globe Theater where plays are performed in the same manner they were in Shakespeare's day. |
Friday night she has tickets for a "Jack the Ripper" tour of London. This is a spooky tour which visits spots where the famous murderer left clues and bodies during his killing spree from 30 August to 9 November 1888. His trademark was a double slash of the throat. His victims were prostitutes. |
Friday night she is also planning a London Pub Tour. |
That's all Folks!
