My friend Janis and I just got back from a 3 day trip to Branson, MO and Eureka Springs, AR. The weather was perfect and since we went in the middle of the week instead of a weekend there were no crowds. We had a great time.
The first night there we saw a show called "Legends". It contained
a variety of acts by performers impersonating various famous artists: Cher,
Michael Jackson, Blues Brothers, Elvis, Whitney Houston, Rod Stewart. They
were all very good and we enjoyed the show very much.
The next day we headed toward Eureka Springs. We came upon an "ice cream social" in Berryville, Arkansas and stopped for a look. They had food, crafts and a petting zoo full of miniature animals. Everyone was very friendly. Janis loved the little pony. |
There were many, many shops. Some were ticky-tacky, some were galleries for real artists. |
Back in Branson the next night we saw the Shoji Tobuchi show. It was great. Shoji is Japanese born and speaks with a heavy accent, which was very cute. His hair style is reminiscent of Moe Howard. He changed his colorful sequined jackets every few musical numbers and seemed to enjoy himself as much as did his audience. The show had something for everyone. It included an orchestra, dancers, singers, taiko drummers, a laser light show, fireworks, a motorcycle riding onto the stage, a large toy train on the stage, and Shoji himself singing and playing the fiddle as well as other string instruments. The next day we returned to St. Louis.
It was a fun trip but it's always good to get home and nice to know you were missed. |
That's all Folks!
