We're baaacckk! (from vacation)
It's all over now but the crying (over the bills).

We visited eight National Parks, several National Monuments and
a few National Rip-offs.

Here are the first few pictures I took before my new little digital camera ("holds
up to 64 pictures") ran out of space (after taking 27 pictures).

Our first stop after
leaving the Phoenix
airport was Sedona.
It is a neat little upscale
community about an hour north of Phoenix.

They are careful to
preserve the natural beauty of their community.

That doesn't mean every effort isn't made to separate the tourist from his money.
Here we pulled off the side of the road and walked on the big red rocks in the area of several "vortexes" which are said to be areas of extraordinary electromagnetic forces. These forces are supposed to invigorate and clear the mind. We didn't feel any different but the area was beautiful!

This is the Grand Canyon.
Our second stop. We didn't hike down in because the park brochure called it "very strenuous."

We did walk the rim and rode a
shuttle bus with a driver who
sounded like comedian
Steven Wright.
After announcing the name of each upcoming stop he would say in
a monotone voice, "I've never been there before but I think I can find it."

When the rest of the pictures are developed I'll show you more!

That's all Folks!
