Pat's back from the Million Mom March and is anxious to share her experience.
Millions of moms met on the Capitol Mall in Washington, D.C. Two moms stand out in their continual vigilence throughout the proceedings. Not Rosie, not the Kennedy, not Faith, but Kate and Pat. Their presence was an inspiration to other moms who may not have been so commited to the cause. |
After getting off the Metro, Kate and Pat had some difficulty finding the march. It seemed that many of the signs were facing the wrong direction. After they figured that out they hauled their p.b.j.'s over to the center of the action. You can see here that Pat is on the side of the sign that has no information. A little more planning by the organizers and this could have been quickly taken care of. |
Here are some African drummers who provided a beat for the march. This polyrhythmic beat did little to help our own two moms get into step--having little natural rhythm to call their own. Pat and Kate thoroughly enjoyed the drums. They frequently were caught clapping out of time. Great fun! |
Whoa! It's our little mom, Kate. She is way off the track. It looks like she has completely missed the march! With a little hitch in her get-along she made it up to the crowd. "Hell no, we won't go." she yelled. Our Kate was out of sync in more ways than one. |
Kate made a comprehensive inspection of the facilities. "All's well that ends well", she said. By the way, the National Park Service had a Johnny for about every 2 moms. Our photo of the Johnny's did not do them justice. There were too many stretching into the horizon. A good study in perspective! |
Momma Bear was not to be left out. She is currently selecting the most tender morsel on the mall. |
Pat was greeted by a committee of moms gathering up the special guests for the march. You know that is true because you can see that Pat is right at the special guest sign. You can see it with your own eyes. Photos can't lie. Pat is right there...right with the special guests... right at the sign. They wouldn't let her be there if she wasn't a special guest, would they? No, they would not! I can tell you. This was no picnic! |
Our own Pat, full of p.b.j., marching to the Capitol. |
It is our Kate! Giving a big hand to the celebrities gathered for the march. Kate, ever the political activist with extreme viewpoints, was vociferous and loud in her protests against easy gun access. |
Exhausted marchers were everywhere after the emotionally draining event. The cool weather, the sunshine, the p.b.j.'s were not enough to withstand several hours of violent (according to Pat and Kate) protests! Liberte, equalite et fraternite! |
That's all Folks!
